Student shows are always a special event at BATS, so you don’t want to miss these upcoming Performance Lab Improvised Film Noir shows. Since they are set in the 1940s and 50s, and feature hand-held lighting, slow motion, and other deeply theatrical techniques, you’re gonna get a taste of Noir onstage, whether you like it or not. These 12 talented students really bring the sizzle, so don’t be a chump and miss the clambake. Instructor Brian Lohmann has been directing improvised Noir since the 1980s, with ‘Pulp Playhouse’ and has won some awards along the way at theaters like The John Anson Ford and the Wallis Annenberg in Los Angeles, so it ain’t glass diamonds we’re grifting here.
